What if I don’t have any bone for dentures?
Dentures are removable replacements for false teeth and the loss of associated bone volume. They are usually made of plastic, metal or nylon. Designed to fit comfortably over the gums, they not only replace missing teeth but fill any gaps left by them
Is it better to get implants or dentures?
Dental implants may provide a preferable comfort level and better chewing than dentures. However, a recent study has shown that people who had implant-supported overdentures — a hybrid of dentures and implants — reported more satisfaction with the comfort and chewing efficiency compared to having conventional dentures
Can I have dentures if I smoke?
We strongly urge patients to quit smoking in general when it comes to your oral health.
When it comes to dentures smoking will irritate the soft tissues of the mouth, causing it to become inflamed, sensitive, and swollen. This can make even a well-fitted denture feel extremely uncomfortable and interfere with a person’s ability to speak and eat properly.
