Why have we chosen not to be a preferred provider?

At Ocean View Dental we aim to provide our patients with the very best in patient care with quality and caring dentistry. We like to ensure you feel welcomed, relaxed and comfortable when you visit our practice. We are committed to providing a full range of preventative, cosmetic and general dentistry to help you achieve a beautiful healthy smile. Our knowledgeable and understanding team work with our patients to determine the best course of treatment – we take the time to get to know you, answer all your questions and ensure that you’re 100% satisfied with your treatment plan.

We believe the best treatment decisions are made with a consultation between the patient and dentist. Our service and treatment should only ever be influenced by our values and our patients, not by a third party such as a health fund.

We also utilise and support local South Australian laboratories so that we do not need to send any of our work overseas. We are not willing to compromise on quality in order to meet the needs of any health funds.

At Ocean View Dental our commitment is to you, our patients. At Ocean View Dental we believe that private health funds should not influence your right to choose the dental practice providing your care.

Are you looking at joining a Health Fund?
Or are you currently dissatisfied with your Health Fund?

Questions to ask your Health Fund:

Why are you telling me I can’t see the dentist I prefer if I am paying the same premiums as someone who goes to a “Preferred Provider”?

Why haven’t my rebates increased in line with premium increases?

Other questions to consider:

Why do dentists make financial arrangements to be “Preferred Providers” with health funds?

Was it because they had trouble filling their appointment book? If so, why?

Are you really getting value for money from your extras cover?

Choose a dentist base on personal recommendations and word-of-mouth.

At Ocean View Dental this is our biggest source of referrals, we do not need to rely on arrangements with Health Funds for patients to choose us to provide their dental care.

Make sure you discuss your treatment and the cost with your dentist.

At Ocean View Dental we want to look after you and ensure we develop a personalised treatment plan, tailored to suit your individual needs including flexible financial arrangements.

Review your health insurance policy and ask your health fund the questions above.
